That means that you can depend on \u003cstrong\u003egreat quality\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003ecomplete documentation\u003c\/strong\u003e and shared \u003cstrong\u003efeatures\u003c\/strong\u003e such as hot-swappable switches, per-key RGB and RGB underglow, USB C interconnect, and much more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnique to the Halcyon Series are its \u003cstrong\u003emodules\u003c\/strong\u003e, which enable you to add functionality to your keyboard without having to solder. For wireless keyboards, we can recommend the e-paper display module and the rotary encoder module due to their low power draw. All keyboards in the series use the same standard, so modules can be reused across them, and more modules will be released as we expand the series, which will be backwards compatible.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe controllers used for the Halcyon Series are cold-swappable so they can be reused, replaced or upgraded in the future.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eFeatures\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe \u003cstrong\u003enRF52840\u003c\/strong\u003e controller provides plenty of speed for any functionality needed for keyboards and then some, which comes in handy for tinkering and enabling advanced firmware features.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt is powered by \u003cstrong\u003eZMK firmware\u003c\/strong\u003e.\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHalcyon keyboards are compatible: either through \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/canary.composer.splitkb.com\/#\/firmware\"\u003edownloadable firmware files\u003c\/a\u003e which you can customise with ZMK Studio, or by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/docs.splitkb.com\/product-guides\/halcyon-series\/resources\/compiling-firmware-zmk\"\u003ecompiling it yourself through a provided sample repository.\u003c\/a\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThis controller can be used in \u003cstrong\u003ewireless and in wired\u003c\/strong\u003e mode. For wireless, bluetooth LE is used. Halcyon keyboards all support the  use of USB C cables for the wired connection.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt has \u003cstrong\u003e8Mbit\u003c\/strong\u003e (1MB) of \u003cstrong\u003eflash memory\u003c\/strong\u003e, which is plenty for just about any ZMK firmware configuration.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt achieves an \u003cstrong\u003eultra-low power consumption\u003c\/strong\u003e in deep sleep of 2.31µA with a LiPo battery and a mere 1.63µA when using a coin cell battery (measured while using the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/splitkb.com\/products\/halcyon-wireless-usb-c-dongle\" title=\"Halcyon Wireless USB C Dongle\"\u003eHalcyon Wireless USB C Dongle\u003c\/a\u003e and without using modules, precision of ±10%). When idle, the usage is a mere 27µA for both. Idle mode is the default state of the keyboard while not actively pressing a key (and thus not transmitting wireless data), while deep sleep is entered after 15 minutes of inactivity.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt provides \u003cstrong\u003eESD protection on all inputs and outputs\u003c\/strong\u003e, including the connection to the host device as well as to the other half of the keyboard. This will ensure your keyboard will live a long life.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe controller has an \u003cstrong\u003eon-board reset button\u003c\/strong\u003e, making it easy to flash new firmware to it: just double-tap the button.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThere is \u003cstrong\u003eno power LED\u003c\/strong\u003e, so it'll be stealthy when you want it to be.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe controller is \u003cstrong\u003ecold-swappable\u003c\/strong\u003e, making it easy to reuse, replace or upgrade in the future.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe've ensured \u003cstrong\u003eA-grade quality control\u003c\/strong\u003e.
