All kits sold at splitkb.com come with through-hole, axial diodes by default. They're easy to handle and easy to solder for beginners. We also have SMD diodes, and then there are these Minimelf diodes: glass and stylish!

Without legs to clip, soldering these is faster once you get the hang of it, and you won't have parts of the legs sticking out of the other side of the PCB, which can help if you're using Kailh Choc switches on builds with acrylic cases.

Remarks

Any kit sold at splitkb.com will already include axial diodes by default: diodes with legs. You won't need to purchase these diodes separately, unless you'd prefer to use these.

When soldering these diodes, make sure the line marked on the diode is aligned with the line on the PCB - they're directional and will only work in one orientation, just like axial diodes.
