Myriad Macropad Module
Keyboards have keys. But what if you want... more keys? With this Myriad macropad module, you can add four extra tactile buttons to your Myriad-enabled keyboard. Use them for less common shortcuts like push to talk, muting your mic during a Zoom call, or for firing off some nice soundboard sounds (sound the buzzer at your colleagues's bad wordplays!).
What's Myriad?
Myriad is a system that allows you to plug in modules to add new functionality to your keyboard, all without having to solder. It's an open source standard, meaning that anyone will be able to create their own modules, which you can then plug into your keyboard. It's a very capable standard, so we're very curious to see what other modules you will come up with!
What's included?
This bundle includes one part:
- 1 × Macropad module: A card with four original tactile ALPS buttons.
Remarks
The Myriad Macropad Module supports per-key RGB backlight, but we haven't yet been able to figure out a good way to control the module's backlight brightness separately from the underglow. It's bright! That's why we disabled the functionality by default. If you can figure out a good way to do it, be sure to let us know ;)
We already know you can play Simon Says with these four buttons, but we lost the code somewhere during development. Still, we weren't able to get QMK to play nice with these LEDs in combination with underglow animations.
