When using a wireless controller such as a nice!nano, you're looking for some additional hardware features. To save battery, it's useful to have a power switch. And for installing the battery, many of our keyboards support a JST jack, which allows you to plug in your battery without having to solder the battery leads, making reuse and replacement easier.

This bundle is compatible with the Kyria rev3, Kyria rev2 and most of the Aurora Series - they have the necessary footprints to make use of these components. Other keyboard kits may be compatible as well.

In the bundle

  • 2 × Power Switch
  • 2 × JST Jack
  • 2 × JST Plug
  • 4 × JST Terminal

Remarks

Not all Aurora keyboards are compatible with the JST jack. Kits that support it will have a white outline for the jack on the top of the PCB. You can still solder the battery wires directly to the PCB, for which the build guide also includes instructions.

Warning: Please pay attention to the polarity of your battery when plugging it into the JST jack. The default polarity will fit with batteries sold by Adafruit, Sparkfun and their partners. If the polarity does not match, please consider soldering the battery leads directly to the keyboard instead of to the JST jack, or consider recrimping the JST jack to the leads.

Failing to adhere to the battery polarity may result in battery failure, which may include fire or a risk of explosion. These are not toys and need to be treated seriously and with proper caution.
