The Halcyon Rotary Encoder Module provides your Halcyon keyboard with a rotary encoder, which makes it easy to control volume, scroll through documents, control sliders or many other actions which go back-and-forth.

Features

This module offers the following features:

• An original low-profile ALPS EC12 encoder provides the turn action for this module, allowing you to map both clockwise and counter-clockwise actions, as well as a press-action in your firmware.
• An original metal knurled KILO encoder knob that is small enough to fit on any Halcyon Series keyboard. Its knurling and clear space around the knob make it easy to manipulate, and its size means that even though it sits on top of your keyboard, it won't stick out too much.
• The module's circuit board features a nice copper pattern which pops is subtly  visible when combined with a tinted rotary encoder module cover (sold separately as part of the case).
• Compatible with the VIK standard by Sadek Baroudi, making it compatible with all Halcyon Series keyboards as well as other keyboards supporting the VIK standard.

Package contents

The module comes with its own knob and allen key. Included in the package are:

• The module itself with a preinstalled rotary encoder.
• A metal knurled encoder knob by KILO in your choice of colour of either matte silver ( OEJNI-50-3-7) or matte black (part number  OEJNI-50-4-7). Both knobs have a diameter of 12.7mm (0.5in), take a 6mm D-type shaft and have a set screw to fix the knob in place.
• A 1/16th inch allen key to tighten and loosen the knob's set screw with.

The mounting hardware and cables needed are provided as part of the Halcyon keyboard kit.

Using the module

You can use up to one module per half of your Halcyon keyboard. You can use up to two of this module at the same time, on both the left and right half of your keyboard. Both rotary encoders can be assigned actions to independently.

This module can be used with any other Halcyon module.
