Myriad Encoder Module
Twisting and turning, encoders do all that and can act as a button to boot! Use this Myriad module to add an encoder to your Elora. Control your device's volume, use it for scrolling, manipulating sliders, navigating history by mapping the turning to CTRL+Z and CTRL+Y and much more.
What's Myriad?
Myriad is a system that allows you to plug in modules to add new functionality to your keyboard, all without having to solder. It's an open source standard, meaning that anyone will be able to create their own modules, which you can then plug into your keyboard. It's a very capable standard, so we're very curious to see what other modules you will come up with!
What's included?
This bundle includes one part:
- 1 × Encoder module: A card with an original tactile ALPS encoder on it, the same as we sell on our shop as just the encoder.
What's required?
We recommend using the encoder with a knob. The encoder has a D-type shaft with a diameter of 6mm.
While we generally recommend using knobs that are up to 19mm in diameter, the Myriad cards allow for more space, so you're more free in the choice of knob to use!
Remarks
The Myriad Encoder Module supports RGB backlight, but we haven't yet been able to figure out a good way to control the module's backlight brightness separately from the underglow. It's bright! That's why we disabled the functionality by default. If you can figure out a good way to do it, be sure to let us know ;)
If you're looking for a challenge, maybe you can find a way to animate the RGB lights when you turn the encoder, too!
